The Okanogan Valley Bass Club (OVBC) was organized in 1986 by a handful of avid anglers who felt a need for the preservation of bass and bass fishing in our county's recreational waters. Who are we? We are the OVBC membership, dedicated to the preservation of bass fishing (Catch, Photograph and Release - CPR), sportsmanship, safety and the development and conservation of our county's multi-use waters. What we do! Individually we support one another as we strive collectively to promote interest in the benefits, the enjoyment and the preservation of our favorite pastime - BASS FISHING...
We're always looking for avid anglers, to help our club grow, to help promote who we are, what we do and to join us in our pursuit of happiness. Do you feel the urge to get out on the water and hook up with a bass? Feed the need, feel the excitement. Start by coming to one of our club meetings. We'll do our very best to help you fill the need. Visitors are always welcome.

THE CHRONICLE
Posted: Friday, June 13, 2008 - 10:13 a.m. PDT
Fishing Day event is for kids
Kids can participate in Tonasket Ranger District’s annual
Fishing Day celebration Saturday June 14, at Bonaparte Lake.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Bonaparte Lake
Campground. Derby hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is geared toward kids up to 13. They will fish from
the pier for rainbow trout that will be planted in the lake
especially for the event, according to a district announcement.
Prizes will be offered in three age classes for largest, second
largest and smallest fish.
Last year’s event was impacted by stormy weather, but still
had a great turnout and the fish were very cooperative, the
announcement continued.
About 75 kids participated with the help of friends and family.
Many of the kids took home their limit of three fish from the
derby, according to the announcement.
“This family event is made possible by the generous
donations by members of the Oroville Sportsmen’s Club, the
Safari Club International - Seattle chapter and Okanogan
Valley Bass Club,” said Nance Wells, event coordinator. “Even
the fish are donated”.
Free lunches for the kids will be provided by the Oroville
Sportsmen’s Club. People will be on hand to help kids with
their fish and to catch plenty of fish.
“Bring your fishing rods, your families, chairs, sense of
adventure and clothing suitable for the weather,” Forest
Service officials urge.
